Bradwell Junior School

Admissions

ADMISSIONS STATEMENT

Derbyshire Local Authority (LA) is responsible for making general arrangements to place children at some Derbyshire’s schools.  For our school parents make requests for admissions through the Derbyshire LA website - DCC Website - Admissions

The LA sets the criteria to be used for admitting children to these schools, and these are set out below:

1   Looked After Children (may include children who live in foster care, in a residential children’s home or at home with their parents or extended family).

2   Children living in the normal area served by the school at the time of application and admission.

3   Children not living in the normal area served by the school but who have brothers or sisters already attending the school at the time of admission.

4   Other children whose parents have requested a place.

If choices have to be made between children satisfying the same criteria in the case of 3 or 4 above, those living nearest the school are given preference.

We can admit up to 20 children per year group.

If parents are unable to obtain a place, they can appeal to an independent appeal committee and can obtain details of this procedure by telephoning the Appeals and Admissions Team via Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190 or on their email address admissions.transport@derbyshire.gov.uk

More detailed information about the admissions procedure can be found on the Derbyshire County Council Website - following this link - DCC Website - Admissions
